What kind of health care provider eats junk food in bed? Me. Posting only beautiful food content that is made from scratch, local, and organic does not capture the full reality of how I eat. I seek comfort, connection, pleasure, and convenience. I am also neurodivergent and at times struggle with executive function, fatigue, low motivation, and sensory issues. There are days I can't get out of bed so I am eating a slice of definitely not artisanal pizza with a plate balancing on my weighted blanket. There are days when my executives are very dysfunctional and I set my dinner on fire because I am easily distracted. There are days when everything grosses me out except pancakes and I eat that for three days in a row. What I have learned to untangle from medicine is an obsession with binary thinking around ethics, health, and what is good. Full article available on Patreon.
